Global PC – It’s about time!

A highly specialized and integrated hardware and software solution that has been specially optimized for the GlobalPC to ensure that users have a fast, powerful, and easy-to-use solution. This includes a custom AMD Elan SC410 32-bit processor that yields Pentium-class performance, plenty of storage space, and the memory you need to get the job done. In fact, the GEOS operating system typically requires just 1/10th the disk space and 1/8th the RAM as compared with Windows, so it just takes less „PC muscle“ to run the GlobalPC.

The GlobalPC’s custom software and hardware architecture is so efficient that it has the equivalent throughput of many of the Windows/Pentium-based systems found on the market today, at three to five times the GlobalPC’s cost-so the unit’s specifications (8 megabytes of RAM, a 4.3 gigabyte hard drive, a floppy drive, and a 56K modem) run just as fast and powerfully as many consumer Windows-based systems on the market today.

The GlobalPC browser implements industry-standard protocols such as the HTML specification, and is compatible with the majority of sites on the Internet. The latest update of the browser supports some JavaScript features as well as HTTPS for secure online purchasing.

The GEOS operating system of the GlobalPC is a very efficient and powerful operating system that requires far fewer system resources than either Windows or the MacOS. GEOS has been used in a wide variety of devices, such as PDAs, cellular telephones and other wireless devices, and mobile Internet access systems.

You can create and save files in most GlobalPC applications so that they can be used with a Microsoft program. In addition, Microsoft Office files (Word) can easily be converted to the GlobalPC format via our conversion program. The GlobalPC is easy to connect to any television, even with multiple video sources.
